Pure and beautiful childhood memories: 'The cat was my best friend in childhood! '

I often hear other people tell stories about my childhood

funny, memorable, happy, sad

but very little about small animals

I've always thought in the back of my mind

Childhood with cats is the happiest

For as long as I can remember, our family has had cats.

In our generation born in the 1980s, most of them had a childhood experience of being locked up at home by their parents who were busy with work. Unlike most people, apart from me, there was a poor dog who was locked up in my home. A raccoon cat. Probably because I was really worried that I would be bored at home alone, my mother would stop the cat in time every time the cat didn't want to be locked up and wanted to escape.

So, when I was young, I was locked up at home by my parents with a sullen cat, and I was accompanied by the adults when they came back. It sleeps and I sleep, it plays, I watch it play, until the age when I can finally go to school, the day when I no longer need to be locked up.

So when I was very young, I knew that cats' paws would not make any sound when walking, and I also knew that not only fireflies but also cat's eyes can glow in the dark.

My childhood accompanied by cats was extremely happy. Even when I was in school, after getting up every morning, washing my face, brushing my teeth and eating breakfast, I would always be accompanied by a non-speaking friend.

There is a special way for friends to express their love, that is to accompany them. Wherever I go, it will go there, even if I go to school, it will send me to a place where I can no longer be sent every day. So much so that I always feel that if my parents don't care about it, it will definitely send me to school. And when I come home from school, I can see it from a distance, because it will wait for me at the place where I sent me to school in the morning, as if it has been waiting here for a whole day and never left.

When I come home from school, I rarely go out to play with my friends, because I already have friends at home who can play with me.

When other children were playing outside, I was studying the cat's paws at home. I was very curious about how its claws could shrink freely according to its own will. No matter how I grabbed its small paws, it was never scratched. Pass.

In the summer, I accidentally saw it eating a cicada, so after dinner, I like to follow my father to catch the cicada that has just moulted and can't fly, so I can serve it as a snack at home.

In winter, I still learned how to knit wool from my mother seriously. After finishing my homework, I moved a small bench and sat beside it, knitting a small scarf stitch by stitch. Its length and width were compared around the neck, and it was really motionless for me to compare.

For this reason, I learned to knit scarves at a very young age, and I was praised by my mother and other relatives and friends.

Whenever someone visits my house, I am the happiest and most excited, because I always have to introduce them, this is my Mimi, she is so pretty and well-behaved.

If it is an adult who comes, most of them will just praise a few words after listening to my introduction, and then go to talk with the adults at home. But if it’s children who come, then it’s the happiest time for me, because what I get is not only praise, but also their envious eyes and requests to join the cat hunting team to play together.

I once used my cat to trick a male classmate who came to my house to help me complete the housework assigned by my parents. Before leaving, he would carefully ask: Can I come to your house to play next time?

Because there is a cat at home, the little brother and little sister of relatives like to come to my home to do homework during summer vacation, especially when writing essays and diaries, they can hold the cat on the table and observe it in detail. It is called "homework requirements" ".

Also because I have cats at home, I always remember the first time I faced the scene of a small life disappearing in front of me.

One day at the end of summer, the cihuamao that I grew up with was about to die. It probably seemed to be poisoned by eating something by accident. It lay upright on the ground in the small courtyard at home. Just a faint rise and fall with each hard breath.

It doesn't bark or make trouble, I've been with it all the time, stroking it with my little hands, testing the temperature of its body. My sister told me that as long as Dad came back from get off work and fed him medicine, he could recover.

At that time, it was raining lightly, and I was so stubborn that I refused to enter the house because it was still in the small courtyard. My sister did not dare to move the dying body of it, so I drenched in the rain in the small courtyard with the cat, hoping Let Dad go home quickly.

But it still couldn't wait for Dad to come back after all. Later, the light rain became heavier, and when I tried to move it home to shelter from the rain, I found that its body was already stiff, but when I was young, I didn't know that my most beloved kitten had gone...

I took it home carefully, stubbornly thinking that it would wake up as soon as Dad came home. We finally waited until Dad came back, but he told me that the cat had been away for a long time. I didn't cry immediately, but lay on the bed at night with a towel covering my head and sobbed carefully until I fell asleep.

After going through life and death, I also know that a cat’s lifespan is very short. Even if the cat is not poisoned by food, it will only live to be a teenager at the longest, and it will die before me.

Gradually, I let go of this painful memory. I am very grateful to my little civet cat, because its existence has brought a different color to my lonely childhood, and every time I think of it, I am so happy...
