After a dog catches a cold, it is not necessary to fast for food and water, because the dog will be weak during the cold, and its immunity is worse than usual. If the nutrition cannot keep up, it is easy to aggravate the cold. Regarding the problem of dog colds, I will share some personal experiences below, hoping to help.

  1. Keep warm in time

After the pet owner finds that the dog has a cold at home, he should take corresponding measures to keep him warm in time to prevent him from getting cold again and aggravating the cold, otherwise the cold will not be cured for a long time.

So if it's cold, you can dress your dog in warm clothing, or place a blanket or a hot water bottle in his usual resting area. When the weather is hot, don't let the dog stay in the air-conditioned room and blow the air conditioner, try to keep the room dry and ventilated. In addition, when a dog has a cold, be careful not to take a bath or get vaccinated, otherwise it is easy to aggravate the condition.

  1. Give your dog more nutrition

When catching a cold, the dog’s body will be very weak and its resistance will also decline. Therefore, pet owners not only do not need to fast and water for the dog, but also should prepare some light and nutritious food for the dog, such as chicken soup, fish soup, porridge, etc. Add a sense of speed to the food to help the dog replenish the nutrients needed by the body in time when it is cold, so that the dog has sufficient nutrition to overcome the cold with physical strength and nutrition. In addition, when needed in cold conditions, you can use amoxicillin powder with some meow amo dogs.

  1. Check for fever

After a dog catches a cold, it may develop a fever or even a fever. Therefore, it is necessary for pet owners to use a pet thermometer or mercury thermometer to regularly measure the dog’s body temperature. Once the dog’s body temperature exceeds 39.5°C, it should immediately take a professional pet hospital antipyretic needle, and cooperate with the doctor to take medicine after cooling down.

  1. Prevention of canine distemper

If the dog not only catches a cold, but also has symptoms such as mental depression, repeated fever, vomiting, and not eating, the pet owner should pay attention. The dog may be infected with canine distemper, and it is best to send it to the hospital for investigation. If it is confirmed that it is caused by a viral infection, ask the veterinarian to take appropriate treatment.
